LA CATRINA

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

This are some pictures of the costume I wore this saturday, to a halloween party. I dressed up as The Catrina a famous mexican traditional character known as the womens spirit of the dead, it's such a popular character of our mexican culture. 

We actualy celebrate the day of the dead instead of normal halloween. This day is known to be the perfect ocasion to remenber those who have passed away. We love to think that we can have a connection with our dead relatives and friends by creating altars whith a picture of the diseased, where we put all the things they used to love during their life, like food and some of their stuff. It's a way to remember them and how they where important for us, and we get together to celebrate them and us who are still alive.

This year I wanted to embody the spirit of our mexican tradition but with a fashionable twist. I created this Catrina costume  and made this amazing head piece, I used flowers, tons of color and put many details on the makeup to make it pop and be fun for a party night! 

For my Catrina costume, I wore a vintage long sleve black satin dress with emborided panels on the front and back. It used to belong to my mom, when I saw it, I got so inspired and immediately knew who I wanted to be for this halloween! So I created this complete look, which I adored!!

CHINESE PRINT

Today's post is about a casual chic yet colorful look. Last week was my brother's girlfriend birthday and my whole family went out to celebrate with her. 

We went to a cool restaurant called Mr. Mustard, it's a small place with delicious food and has a great alternative vibe to it, it's full of color and contrast. The owner if a good friend of mine, and he made such a good job creating this great place. If you ever come to San Pedro, my town here in Monterrey, I fully recommend you to visit and try their amazing dishes, you wont regret it!

 I wore a Charlotte Russe emerald printed blouse with my H&M linen boyfriend blazer, used the skinny Levi's jeans and Steve Madden nude pumps, with my green Coach tote bag and some Vintage accessories.

The weekend is a day away, let the plans begin!

BLACK SEQUIN

Hello hello, I'm sharing this quick post from school, just finished my classes for the day and I'm waiting for the rain to calm down, so I can go back home. 

This pictures are from last weekend, while I was getting ready to go out. I went to bar with some of my best friends! I love having girls night outs it's always great to catch up and have some cool drinks.

 

I wore a my 80's inspired Marciano sequined blazer with a ZARA basic black top underneath, used my EXPRESS high waited satin shorts and Steve Madden black suede pumps. Luis Vuitton silver folded clutch and another pair from my mom's vintage accessory collection, this amazing huge flower earrings.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS

Good morning everyone, sorry if I've been so M.I.A. lately, but I'm still pretty busy handling three jobs, school, several events and a long distance relationship, I'm going a bit crazy. I'm trying to pull everythhig together, but I haven't had any time to take pictures. I think I need to find a cool photographer to follow me around all day taking pictures, haha such a diva I know! I wish, anyway for now I'm lucky to have my friends helping out with the pics, to get new and interesting posts!! 


This pictures are from an event I attended last weekend, at a jewelry store called Eternity Diamonds. I had the honor to be invited to this lovely evening, where jewelry and style professionals gave us a very interesting conference about everything related to jewelry. We learned about the different types of jewelry there are and wich kind of accesories fit us better according to our personal style and interests. It was a great event and I even got to try some cool pieces on.

I wanted a classy and feminine look, so the perfect choice was a  little black dress. I wore this ZARA Basic dress with a vintage black leather waist belt. Used my red Fendi chef canvas calfskin hobo bag and for the final touch I wore my new black and creme super high pumps, its one of the newest pairs in my closet.. I'm in love!

ON THE SPOT

Hello my lovely followers, I'm having a very busy week, multi tasking between exams and meetings, I´m going a bit crazy! It seems that everything got smashed together into the same week. But I thought I'd take a break from my study time, to share with you this post from my yesterday's outfit! 

I had to go to school and follow our formal dress code for exams week. It's still kind of hot in here, I keep waiting for the fall to take this heat away, so that I can finally wear more season appropriate clothes, but it seem that the summer isn't ready to leave just yet! so I wore a short dress and pull my hair up to create a fresh but polished look.

I wore an Atmosphere mint polka dot dress with an H&M beige linen boyfriend blazer, my ALDO multi strap buckle sandals, used my Coach Heritage pink stripe bag and pulled my hair up in a bun to show my vintage golden earrings.

Gotta get back to work, have a great day!!

THE NEW LOOK

Yesterday was a long and hectic day, I had to run so many errands and ended so tired. But one of them definitely brightened my day, I went to a beauty supply store to buy all the material for my beauty class. This year in school I'm learning all the hair dying and cutting techniques. I'm so excited to learn and hopefully one day some one will let me cut his hair. But for now, I have my fake head to practice with, don't want to make irreparable damages on no one's head just yet! ha ha

While I was on the beauty store, my mom, who went with me found a wig store right next door and as you can imagine, I had to go in! and yes, I try almost the entire store on. I took some pictures of me with many different styles, it was so funny! check them out and feel free to laugh.. I sure did!

I wore an EXPRESS knit top, a printed Forever 21 full skirt, with my Steve Madden suede taupe pumps and the green Coach leather tote. Used some golden rings and my big MANGO green stone ring, with my golden full blooded Swatch watch and a vintage linked leaf golden necklace.

And now... THE NEW LOOKS!!

So... which style did you like the most?? Blonde, ginger or should I stick with brunette? ha ha
