TOTAL DENIM

Denim is the most basic fabric ever, it’s so casual and easy to wear, that jeans are most people’s clothes of choice. Everyone loves to wear jeans, me included, but I usually try to make them less casual, by styling them with something not so obvious. This time I decided to keep it simple, by wearing my ripped boyfriend jeans on a total denim look, mixing them with a cool different tone patch work shirt, then I added some statement accessories like a leopard belt, some studded sandals, a big scarf and matching mirror shades, to create a monochromatic look that is simple, yet very chic for a casual day.

FEEL THE BLUES

Sometimes It gets boring to wear the same outfit style over and over during the cold season, let’s face it, usually everyone ends up wearing the same old looks, which tend to involve a cozy sweater, a basic pair of jeans and some riding boots. I mean, I get it, it’s a comfy mix, and so easy to pull off for the everyday looks. Don’t get me wrong, I like to wear the basics too, But I do try to mix things up, by wearing sweaters in a more unexpected way, trying to make different looks for my daily life activities.

One of my favorite ways to dress up a simple sweater, is to pair it with more exciting bottoms. Forget about your old jeans, pair them with something sexier, like a cute mini skirt or as I like to do with mine, with a super fitted pencil skirt, specially one with a bold tone or a cool print, for a more dramatic twist. Like I did this time, by pairing my navy embellished sweater, with a matching graphic skirt and my beloved metallic pumps, making an easy feminine look.

You don’t have to wear boring looks just because it’s cold outside, you can still wear your favorite sweaters with out looking too simple, just try taking a few risks and have fun while choosing your clothes.

PRETTY IN PINK

I had the honor to collaborate as Fashion editor on the second issue of VO Magazine, I was so happy they asked me to be a part of this new up coming magazine, which by the way has a great content not only about fashion, but also about life style and many other interesting articles

I am so grateful, to be able to work doing what I love, It's amazing to have an opportunity like this, where I got complete liberty and trust, to express my vision and ideas into the magazine’s editorial and cover shoot, as well as my intel on all the fashion articles and sections. It was truly one of my best collaboration ever, specially because of the amazing team i got to work with.

For this issue’s story I was inspired by one prettiest trends of the last seasons, pastel tones, specially the pink and blush ones. which are perfect to let us show our femine side in the most beautiful and sophisticated way.

For this spread I created serveral monochromatic looks, making a big pink statement, but not in the obious girgly girl way everyone related pink to. I tried to show a different approach of how to wear pink, without having to dress as a hopeless romantic and instead  play with the idea of wearing a total pink look with more masculine and structured silhouettes, to create an unexpected contrast.

RED ACCENTS

For those of you who don’t know Monterrey, my home town city, you should know that we have the most crazy and extremist weather ever, we go from a sunny 40 degrees C day to a rainy 7 degree c morning. The weather keeps changing from one day to another, so you never know what to expect and what the next day will be like.

This look is made by a simple combination of black and white tones, with some extra red hot accent, that will be perfect to brighten up one of those cloudy, out of the blue cold days. The main piece of this look are the art deco inspired graphic pants, which work great for both winter and spring, is just a matter of what you pair them up with.

This time I wore them for an easy season transition look, pairing them with a bulky black turtle neck sweater, to keep warm on a chilly day, making a classic black and white combo, adding some basic patent pumps and matching b&w geometric earrings. Then added a sexy twist of red hues on the clutch and lips, for a cool bold contrast.

Welcome March!!
Can’t wait for spring to get here, and for this crazy weather to cease.
